A Thursday Tumble
Took Jackie's daughter Jessica home with me and she was an absolute little angel bless her, a bit miffed at me for taking the long way round to my front door (double buggy!) and tried to convince Jack I'd lost the plot in that way she has of talking that only Jack understands. Very Vera and Jack Duckworth, her going of on one and Jack just sitting there looking like he'd rather be down the pub! But it was Jack who was unusually whingey today, maybe he's "sickening for something" as my nanna used to say.
Jackie turned up at 2.15, just as I was making moves to take them up to the park for half an hour before the school run. So we went up together and Jack had a really nasty fall which grazed one side of his face and gave him a nasty bump on side of his forehead. Outside the school he took ANOTHER tumble and grazed his nose and gave himself a bruise on the other side of his forehead. Tomorrow I'm wondering if he'll do the other side of his face to match! I couldn't get any pictures until he fell asleep after we got home and you can just make out the two lumps on either side of his forehead, like little budding horns!! Amazing how quickly children's bumps and bruises heal, he doesn't take after his mum, I'm still picking at a scab about 3 months after I cut myself (like your really wanted to know that!!).
There were lots of sirens last night going on outside our house, we live on a cul-de-sac which runs parallel with the main road, and lots of flashing blue lights outside til very late. We were discussing it at JJs and I joked that perhaps someone had tried to firebomb my house and missed (and believe me there are a few who would try!) and anyway it transpires that someone set fire to the now closed down indian restaurant directly opposite my house. Had a look at it on the way home and all the windows have blown out and everything. So maybe someone did try and firebomb my house and missed..........!!

Glad you've made a fresh start!
Poor Jack! As you say, it's funny how bumps & bruises show up so quickly on little ones, but then disappear just as fast. Hope he's feeling ok now.
Olivia & I both enjoyed the group this morning ~ thanks to you & Jackie for organising it.
